Field Crops

Crops at Live Springs FarmOur crop rotation is primarily focused on small grains and legumes. This provides our animals with the energy, protein, and fiber they need, while ensuring that our soils experience the maximum amount of plant diversity. Cover crops are also used to further build soil structure and fertility, foster diversity, and keep the soil covered in winter.

We currently grow Barley, Wheat, Oats, Field Peas, and Alfalfa as our main crops. We are continually experimenting with our land management practices and the crops we plant. As new innovations in our practice prove themselves, they are incorporated into our farming system.

We sell some of our alfalfa/grass hay. We are also always interested in new wholesale relationships with those looking for biodynamically grown grains, as well as, trying new grains and legumes in our rotation that may fit your specific needs. Please contact Alex if you are interested in some of the products we grow or are interested in having us grow a specific crop for you.
